A connoisseur

He received a call to wish him Happy New Year. He had lived by himself for many years. He wouldn’t open a bottle of  cava as he only liked French Champagne. He would drink a glass of cider to celebrate the New Year on his own at his small apartment.

Animal warmth

She lived alone in her tiny apartment. When she returned home from work, no noisy children were waiting for her. Everything was quiet...except her cute playful puppy. It was the only living being that died for her caresses. After its cancer, it had to be sacrificed. She got disconsolate.
